Helping Cliff Denham with the ribbon cutting for Lamb Ford Sales last week were: (left to right) Pat Quinlan, Peter O'Malley, E.G. Gerald Wood, Brett Denham, Ray Atkins, John Denham, and Mayor Clarence Mastel.

E.G. (Gerald) Wood presents a Golden Shovel award to Denham in recognition of providing leading edge facilities in support of long term customer satisfaction and owner loyalty.

Lamb Ford Sales served wine and hors d'oeuvres November 13 in celebration of its grand re-opening.

The Camrose dealership has just completed a major renovation and expansion project that included the addition of 8,000 square feet of shop space.

"We now have a total of 18 bays including our new Fastlane, which provides no appointment necessary service for oil changes, scheduled maintenance, brakes shocks and tires," said Lamb Ford Sales owner Cliff Denham.

The project also included increasing the size of the showroom, the addition of the Ford tower, and an upgrade of the entering facility.

The decision by Lamb Ford to expand and upgrade was a major one.

"The decision was made because of the faith we have in our community, our franchise and our employees," said Denham.

"It is quite a challenge to do an expansion of this magnitude and still keep operating."

Denham expressed appreciation to the staff at Lamb Ford for their patience and perseverance in getting through the renovation process and keeping the dealership running at capacity, the contractors and sub trades, including Peter O'Malley, of O'Malley and Son Construction, for the job he did as project manager, and the loyal customers.

"Without our customers this project would not have been possible," said Denham. "My family and I and the staff here at Lamb Ford are looking forward to looking after your automotive needs in the foreseeable future."

Ford Motor Company of Canada regional manager, western region, E.G. (Gerald) Wood commended Denham for stepping up and making a commitment to the city of Camrose.

"For us at Ford Motor Company the way our facilities look are critical in getting customers to come and visit us. When we make this type of investment, it brings the face of Ford to the forefront, and that is really what we are looking for.

"The commitment that Cliff and his team have made here really makes us proud of what the Ford logo is all about."

Wood said he loves attending Ford dealership grand openings.

"They are the face of the future for us."

Cliff Denham and his brothers bought controlling interest in the dealership in 1981 from Bill Lamb. Five years later, in April, 1986, they completed the purchase and Denham became dealer principal and general manager.

Denham and his wife, Brenda, raised three children in Camrose. Their son, Brett, is the dealership's sales manager, while their daughter, Alana, is now going to college in Kelowna. Their youngest son, Davin, is working at Tee Pee Trade and RV Centre, in Camrose.

"We realize that we are very fortunate to live and raise our family in one of the best communities in western Canada and have the best franchise in the industry," said Denham. "We are very fortunate to have employees who are among the best automotive people in western Canada."
