Hauser Home Hardware Building Centre in Camrose has been named 2011 recipient of the Walter J. Hachborn Store of the The Year award for retailing excellence, high standards in retailing, merchandising and community relations.

The award was presented by Home Hardware Stores Limited's president and CE Paul Strauss at the company's annual spring market.

Hauser Home Hardware Building Centre owner Rob Hauser accepted the award on behalf of a grateful staff.

"It is a testament to the hard work of everyone at this store, as well as to the pride we take in offering superior service, quality products and expert advice to our customer base of do-it-yourselfers, home renovators, contractors and local customers," said Hauser.

Hauser Home Hardware Building Centre carries a variety of carefully selected products to aid in home renovation, repair and maintenance costs. It features a lumber yard and a custom lumber cutting service, as well as design services for home and cottage. The Home Expressions department gives customers the opportunity to browse stylish products from home decor, housewares, kitchen, bath, lighting and storage solutions, while the paint and decorating department stocks high-quality Beauti-Tone paint exclusive to Home, as well as paint supplies and accessories. Staffed by the store's paint experts, the department also offers the Beauti-Tone Advanced Colour Matching computer system, which matches paint colours to any sample.

The Walter J. Hachborn Store of the Year Award recipient is selected as the top store from a group of 20 Proud of My Home award recipients from coast to coast. To receive the Proud of My Home award, a Home Hardware store must demonstrate excellence in staff performance and customer service; interior presentation – including clear signing, tidiness and merchandise presentation and displays; exterior presentation – including cleanliness and attractive window displays; staff training; and participation in dealer network initiatives.

"The Walter J. Hachborn Award represents a total team effort and shows the value of dedicated people working together to serve their communities," said Straus. "Hauser Home Hardware Building Centre embodies everything the award stands for and is a tremendous representative of the Home brand."

Hauser Home Hardware Building Centre was named Franchise of the Year by the Camrose Chamber of Commerce in 2009. In 2011, it was one of 20 Home Hardware stores across Canada to participate in Maple Leaf Day by conducting a tree planting.

"Maple Leaf Day allows us to thank Camrose in a way that contributes to the health of our neighbours and the overall environment," said Hauser.

Hauser Home Hardware Building Centre is a past recipient of the Paul Strauss Public Relations Award for the work it does in supporting over 20 local groups.

Hauser Home Hardware Building Centre has been operating from its present location on 48 Avenue and 68 Street since 2006.
