Athletes in provincials

Alexis Brown of the Camrose Composite High School threw a discus 24.02 metres to place second in the junior girls' event at zones to advance to the track and field provincials.
CCHS hosted the central zone track meet on Wednesday, May 23, to determine which athletes moved on to provincials held in Edmonton on June 1 and 2.
Jenna Rust of CCHS came in second in the intermediate girls' 800 metre run in zones to move on in the event.
Anna Eriksson of CCHS crossed the finish line in second place in the 1,500 senior girls' run with a time of 5:48.09 and also placed second in the 3,000 metre run in 12:07.47.
Becky Sjogren of New Norway came in second in the senior girls' long jump with a height of 4.31 metres. Ashley Galenza of Hay Lakes placed second in the senior girls' high jump with a 1.25 metre leap.
Bryan Cole of CCHS came in second in the junior boys' 3,000 metre run with a time of 10:29.67.
Connor Foreman won the senior boys' shot put with a 13.06 metre launch to move on to provincials. Spencer Clark of New Norway captured the senior boys' javelin throw with a 42.18 metre throw.
