Legion auction assists with move
The Camrose branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be moving to a new location sometime in 2013.
To assist with the cost of this move, the Legion will be hosting a 25 cent auction on Sunday, Sept. 30. "The event will be geared towards the entire family, and filled with super duper fun," said Agnes Minnes. "Each number that you purchase gives you a chance to win a prize Each chance will cost a quarter."
The winners must match their numbers to the number drawn for the prize. "All things small add up to something big and great," added Agnes. "We are packaging prizes together to make them worth at least $200 each. We hope to have 20 to 30 packages."
The doors to the Legion will open at 2 p.m. and the auction starts at 3 p.m. A full canteen with a meal, snacks and goodies for all will be available. The pool tables, dart boards and the facility will be open for families to enjoy during the auction.
In order to make this event possible, the legion is currently seeking donations from the community. "We need to replace some items when we move. At least 25 per cent of what we raise will also go to charity."
Contact Michelle at 780-678-6814 or Agnes at 780-672-4302 if you have some items to donate. "We will gladly pick up any items you may have for this exciting event," Agnes concluded.
