The local Vivian Selin floor curling rink emerged as the winners of the Camrose Senior Floor Curling Club's ladies' 24-team tournament at the Mirror Lake Centre on Feb. 10.

The Cougars roared at their own basketball tournament. Both the girls' and boys' Charlie Killam School junior high teams earned gold medals on Feb. 10 and 11.

The CK1 and CK2 girls played in one playoff game, where the CK2 girls advanced to the finals.

Our Lady of Mount Pleasant and New Norway girls played in another semifinal game, where the OLMP girls came up victorious.

It was a tale of two cities. First the Augustana Vikings crushed the SAIT Trojans 6-2 in front of the Camrose crowd on Feb. 10. Then the Trojans went to war in the rematch in Calgary and emerged victorious in a 7-2 contest.

Augustana has advanced to the playoffs on the women's side, but the picture isn't clear for the men,

"Our record is 5-13 and we have two games left with NAIT," explained Logan Gray. "There are a couple of factors that come into play. We either have to win one game against NAIT and another team loses, or we have to win both games against NAIT to guarantee us a spot in the playoffs."
